Please note that we have added a new workflow for ACH Failures in August 2024, please see Molo Express - How does Molo handle Failed ACH Payments?

When you process an ACH Payment Payment through Molo Express, Molo adds that as a Payment Transaction right away. Since the ACH Network is slower to process [5-7 Business Days] compared to the Credit Cards, a failed payment would not be known until a few days later. In the event an ACH Payment failure occurs, Molo adds a Refund Transaction on the failure date to zero out the failed Payment and sends an email (example below) to the notifications email(s) on file alerting you of the failure.

NOTE: Since this is a failed Payment, the posted Refund does not follow the Lock Date, Accounting Integrations or Allocation Logic. In the event of an ACH Payment failure, the accountant or business owner must review all data involving the transaction is correct.
