Time-Based Rates (or Transient Rates)
Time-Based Rates are rates that change depending on how long the reservation lasts in Molo. These rates are ideal for situations where the price varies based on the length of stay, whether it's 1 night, 6 nights, or 2 months. Common users of time-based rates include transient boaters or marinas offering month-to-month dockage.
Note: Time-based rates can be selected in the Rate Picker dropdown when creating a new reservation, within the rate's date range. However, the rate will not be visible in the Rate Picker dropdown outside its date range when creating a new reservation.
Seasonal Rates
Seasonal rates are fixed rates that don't change based on the length of the reservation in Molo. They're often used for things like summer dockage. For example, a seasonal rate might be $100/ft for the summer, so a 20' boat would be charged $2,000 for the entire season, no matter how long they stay. Seasonal rates can also be billed in installments, so a 6-month contract might have 2 or 6 separate invoices.
Note: Seasonal rates can be selected in the Rate Picker dropdown when creating a new reservation, as long as the "Active" setting is turned on, regardless of the date range.
Note: The date range of a seasonal rate sets the default dates for the reservation when creating a new reservation.
Recurring Rates
Recurring rates are for reservations with no set end date, allowing boaters to stay as long as they want, with monthly billing. After a reservation is created, Molo will generate a monthly invoice until the reservation is marked as Checked Out, Cancelled, or a Departure Date is set. On the 26th of each month, Molo creates the next month’s invoice, dated for the 1st.
